Katelyn states: “High school sports are a crucial part of every student athlete’s life, many lessons can be learned and taught throughout the span of four years. High school sports impacts three major parts of a student athletes’ life: mental health, physical health, and life skills and lessons. Many life lessons are learned in sports, not a lot are handed on a silver platter but once the effort is made, it is easy to pick them out. A few of the many teachings I have learnt is that nothing comes easy, and it takes dedication, a good work ethic and the strength to never give up getting anywhere in life. I have come to acquire leadership experience, new friends/connections, responsibilities, time management, critical thinking to develop tactics/skills, and the self confidence to know that no one can convince your to be a better version of yourself other than you.”
