Russell states: “School sports have allowed me to make friends throughout the province. I would not have had the opportunity to meet so many people if I just stayed at school in the classroom. Some of our biggest rivals in one sport are suddenly on my teammates for another sport. I have learned so many technical skills for the various sports I compete in but the leadership and character building the coaches have taught is something that will benefit me late in life, I’m sure. Our hockey team captured the AA Provincial Championship, and the experience is something I’ll remember my entire life. I feel very fortunate to have made those memories with my teammates!”
