Grey Cup Legacy Male and Female Coach of the Year

The 2022 Grey Cup Legacy Male High School Coach of the Year was awarded to Doug Durksen of Westgate Mennonite Collegiate in Winnipeg.

Doug primarily coaches Westgate’s junior varsity and varsity cross country teams. He always the first person to encourage and promote the team and community aspects of sport. Over the years, he has convened and hosted numerous cross-country events and championships. The cross country student athletes Doug has coached have won numerous medals and banners over the past several years, and most recently saw three of his student athletes win medals at the 2022 Provincial Cross Country Championships.
