Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Lance Bartel of the Reston Tigers badminton team, is this week’s Tri-Star Rural High School athlete of the week. This 5’10” singles player was the Zone 9 Champion and Provincial Bronze Medalist. During the badminton season he was a finalist in boys singles and champion in boys doubles at the Reston and Souris tournaments. Coach Kurtis Callander states, “Lance shows up every day to practice with an incredible work ethic and desire to improve. He shows great leadership for all the younger athletes. He competes with great intensity, and shows great sportsmanship when doing so”. This grade 12 student maintains an 85% average, while also participating in volleyball, baseball, and hockey.
