Nick Laping Leadership Award

Nixon has been teaching and coaching high school sport for 39 years. During that time period, he has been involved with hosting 9 Provincial Championships, and his teams have won Five Volleyball Provincials, one baseball and one Fastball Championship. Gord was selected as MHSAA Coach of the Year in 2002-03, and his fondest memory was winning the AA Volleyball Provincials with both of his sons playing on the team. He is also quite proud that his son Kyle, a former MHSAA athlete of the year, is following in his footsteps and coaching at Stonewall Collegiate.
