Joe Ogoms of the Daniel McIntyre Maroons was a dominant force in high school basketball.  He arrived at Daniel McIntyre as a 6’4” dangly 15 year old and immediately made an impression.  The Maroons JV team won the 1979 Provincials and Joe were selected MVP.  The Varsity teams were in the Varsity Finals in 1981 and 1982, and they won it all in 1983, where Joe was selected as the MVP.  Joe went on to University of Manitoba and was selected GPAC Rookie of the year in 1985.  Joe was selected as a first team all Canadian in 1986 and 2nd team in 1987.  He was a member of the National Team in 1985 and 1986 and played professionally in Europe from 1987 until retiring in 2000.
