As a School Superintendent, he promoted high school sports and was very supportive of the programs at the schools under his administration.  Gladwyn served as a member of the MHSAA board and coached high school sports in Hamiota and Carman.    In total, he coached seven provincial championship teams in a five year stint at Hamiota - highlighted by three titles in one season. Everywhere he has been in Manitoba, he left a foundation for sport. When Scott moved to Carman in the 1960’s, he founded the Carman Cougarettes high school basketball team.

He is also known for his involvement in the sport of baseball and served as Vice President of Baseball Canada for three years.  Gladwyn is also a member of the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame, and was recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the MHSAA in 2011.
