John Puchniak was a fullback and linebacker at St. Paul’s High School.  He went on to be the Head Football Coach at Churchill High School from 1965 – 1971, including three Championships in the Winnipeg High School Football League with 32 undefeated consecutive games.  During his tenure, he started the “pride and tradition” slogan still used today.  John also was a Football Commissioner for the MHSAA and has also been appointed a Life Member to the International Peace Gardens.  John is a long time fund raiser for a variety of groups, including St. Paul’s High School, Special Olympics, Bison Alumni Association, etc. He is an Honorary Board Member for Special Olympics.
