Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Franzeska Hempel of the College Louis Riel Voyageurs badminton team is this week’s Home Run Sports Urban High School athlete of the week. To date this year, this girls singles player has placed first at Carman, while also finishing second at both the College Louis Riel and Maples tournaments. Coach Robert Stanners states, “Franzeska is a technically sound and competitive athlete who can maintain focus on her goals and drives herself to her potential, whether practicing drills or playing a match. She serves as a model for our team and leads the Voyageurs by her example”. In grade 12, she maintains an average of 82%, while also participating in track & field.
