Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Alicia Ogoms of the St. Mary’s Academy Flames volleyball team is this week’s Home Run Sports Urban High School athlete of the week.  This 6’5” middle was instrumental in St. Mary’s victory at the Crocus Plains tournament.  She was the team’s top blocker and server and had a kill percentage of 50%. The flames are also currently undefeated in league play.  Coach Christine Rewniak states, “Alicia is a physically gifted athlete who is always striving to improve her game. She is extremely dominant at the net, and has become a more aggressive blocker and attacker. She is our team captain, is composed under pressure, and is a leader both on and off the court.”  In her grade 12 year she maintains an academic average of 82%, while also participating in basketball and soccer.
