Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

This 5’2” setter has led the Panthers to four tournament wins this season, winning Wawanesa, Dominion City, Hamiota and their home tournament, as well as making the finals at the Crocus tournament.   She was selected tournament MVP at Dominion City.  She has also been instrumental in the Panthers being undefeated in league play so far this season.  Coach Angie Gudnason states, “Joanne brings great leadership qualities to the team both on and off the court. Her dedication and hard work is a great example for others. Joanne has a very positive attitude and always has encouraging words for her teammates. She goes for every ball and never gives less than 100%. As a coach, I could not ask for a more coachable player, she is an absolute pleasure to have on my team”.

This grade 11 student maintains an 80% average, while also participating in basketball, fastpitch, badminton, cross country and track & field.
