Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Tri-Star Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Heidi Smith of the Virden Golden Bears Basketball Team.

This 5’7” guard lead her team to the championship in the Golden Bears home tournament.  She was the team’s leading scorer in the tournament averaging 19 points, 12 assists and 4 rebounds per game.  Coach Stephen Densmore states, “Heidi is a very driven athlete who gives her all on the court.  She wants nothing better than for her team to win”.

This grade 12 student maintains an 84% average.
