Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

This 5’9” guard is averaging 18 points and 3 steals per game.  He has been selected as an All-Star at the Wesmen Classic and St. Vital tournaments, while also earning MVP honours at the WIT tournament.  He has led his team to the final of all four tournaments the Gophers have entered, winning two championships.  Coach Phil Penner states, “Byron is an extremely quick guard that can beat you in a variety of ways. He is an excellent defender, can shoot, finish at the rim and has a good mid-range game as well. He works very hard in practice and is an absolute pleasure to coach”.

This grade 12 student maintains a 70% average, while also participating in track & field.
