Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Joy Becker of the Goose Lake Angels Basketball team from Roblin is this week’s Tri-Star Rural High School athlete of the week.

This 5’6” guard averages 15 points, 5 steals, and 4 rebounds per game this year.  She has earned all-star recognition at various tournaments throughout the year.  Coach Brant Neufeld states, “Joy is a game changer, her speed on offense leads to many lay-ups and uncontested drives to the basket.  Her speed on defense has many opponents looking over their shoulders for the steal or tip they know is coming.  She has worked hard on her outside shot, which makes her next to impossible to guard. Joy could play basketball beyond high school”.

This grade 12 student maintains an average of 90% and also competes in volleyball, track & field and fastball.
