Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Blake Small of the Treherne Tigers volleyball team is this week’s Tri-Star Rural High School athlete of the week.

This 6’1” left side has had strong start to the volleyball season leading the Tigers to two tournament titles at the Treherne and Elm Creek tournaments.  He earned MVP honours for his efforts at the Elm Creek tournament. Coach Darrel Van Den Bussche states, “Blake has become the true leader of the team.  He has organized extra morning practices and even instigated and organized a volleyball clinic held at Treherne in August.  His will to win is contagious and has the Treherne Tigers excited to compete in this year’s volleyball season.”

In his grade 12 year he maintains an academic average of 95%, while also competing in basketball, badminton and track & field.
