Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Kenny Rooney of the College Jeanne Sauvé Olympiens volleyball team is this week’s Home Run Sports Urban High School athlete of the week. 

This 6’5” middle had 25 kills while leading the Olympiens to the South Central Athletic Conference volleyball championship and a spot in the BOSTON PIZZA “AAAA” Volleyball Provincials.  Coach Cam Johnson states, “Kenny is co-captain of the team and is one of our most consistent players. This year, Kenny was asked to expand his game by staying on the court as a passing and defensive player as well as anchoring the middle position at the net.  As a 6’5” middle he became a consistent passer, a great digger and always a positive and competitive presence on the floor. “
       
In his grade 12 year he maintains an academic average of 85%.
