Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Michael McMurray of the Miles Macdonell Buckeyes Volleyball team is this week’s Home Run Sports Urban High School athlete of the week. This 5’9” setter led his team to an undefeated record at the University of Winnipeg tournament where he received All-Star recognition for his performance. Coach Tim Au states, Michael has demonstrated maturity and leadership skills with a lot of small things to ensure team unity. Michael welcomed the new grade 11’s to our team by ensuring everyone warms up with a new partner, or ensuring everyone sits together before a practise or match. Michael is very positive and encouraging towards his teammates and is well respected by his teammates. Michael is also a fierce competitor”. In grade 12, he maintains an average of 80%.
