Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Brynna Walker of the Souris Sabres girl’s basketball team is this week’s Tri-Star Rural High School athlete of the week.

Walker a 5’10” forward is the Sabres’ captain.  She is averaging 15.1 points, 13.6 rebounds and 7 steals per game this season.  She has been named an all-star at the Treherne and Neelin tournament while earning MVP honors at the Sabres Shootout.  “She never takes a possession off and is one of the toughest defenders in all of AA basketball”, states coach Trevor Penner, “Her athleticism is only outdone by her work ethic, love for the game, and love for her teammates.”

In her grade 12 year, Walker maintains an academic average of 90%.  She also participates in volleyball, rugby, track & field, and fastpitch.
