Lesley is a Vincent Massey Trojan (1968-71) who excelled in academics and athletics. A volleyball player at the U of M, (Western Conference Intercollegiate champions in 1972), she was a multi – sport athlete with emphasis on volleyball, basketball and track. In volleyball, she led the Trojans to a Cloverleaf Conference Championship finish, and in basketball the Cloverleaf Conference Championship as well as two other tournament championships. She was a member of Manitoba’s gold medal winning volleyball team at the 1971 Canada Winter Games. In track, she was a provincial high school champion in the 80 yard hurdles, 60 yard sprint and the relay, along with a second place finish in the long jump. In her grade 10 year she won 5 events at the provincial track meet. Lesley was athlete of the year in grade 12.  She competed in the Canadian Olympic Trials for hurdles and just missed, finishing third.
