Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

This 5’10” midfielder helped lead St. Maurice to their first ever Zone 12 Championship and a spot in the Provincial Soccer Championships.  He scored four goals on the season including two penalty kick game winners in both the zone semi-finals and finals.  Coach Jericho De Castro states, “Abel is a very dedicated and skilled soccer player. Despite not making playoffs in the past two seasons, Abel has always maintained a very positive attitude. Whether the Patriots are winning or losing, he always encourage the players on the field and constantly gives them advice”.

These grade 11 student maintains an 83% academic average.
