Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Joel Kliewer of the Westgate Wings Volleyball team is this week’s Home Run Sports Urban High School athlete of the week. This 6’3” left side hitter is captain of his Wings team and recently lead them to an 8-0 record and the championship at the U of Saskatchewan tournament. He led the team with 54 kills and 20 service aces earning him tournament MVP honours. Coach Mark Kliewer states, “Joel is a very well rounded player and a natural leader. His leadership is felt by all, on and off the court”. In grade 12, he maintains an average of 80%, while also competing in basketball.
