Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

This 5’5” runner won the SCAC zone championship in the 3000m and also picked up silver in the 800m and 1500m.  He then went on to the Milk Provincials Championships where he won gold in the 1500m and 3000m, while picking up a bronze in the 800m.  Coach Andy Tough states, "Deric has a contagious positive attitude and a tenacity in racing. Deric's positive attitude and support towards his training partners makes him one of the most likeable athletes on our team. Deric continues to grow as an athlete, and as a student of the sport. His development continues to sky rocket with his hard work and determination. Deric is a pleasure to coach and I look forward to his continued development as an athlete and growth as a fine young man”.

These grade 10 student maintains an 88% academic average.
