Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Brooke Mathison of the Hamiota Huskies basketball team is this week’s Tri-Star Rural High School athlete of the week. This 6’1” post helped lead her team to the Provincial “A” Basketball Championship title. She was named game star of the tournament final and was selected to the Provincial All-Star team. She also received all-star recognition earlier in the year at the Elm Creek tournament. Coach Jon Zilkey states, “Brooke has been a tremendous leader for our team. She is positive with all her teammates and works extremely hard every game to play her best. She will be missed”. This grade 12 student maintains an average of 86% and also competes in fast pitch and volleyball.
