Manitoba's Credit Unions Scholar Athlete

Jessica Gundrum of Prairie Mountain High School (Somerset) – participated in Volleyball, Cross Country, Basketball, Curling, Badminton, Fastball and Track and Field.  She was a Zone 6 All Star in Volleyball and Basketball and was on her Zone Championship curling team.  She won the girls badminton singles consolation at Provincials.  Jessica is a member of the grad and, Yearbook committees, and is the Girls Sports Representative. At Track Provincials, she took silver medals in Triple Jump and Hurdles, while earning a bronze in long jump, and being part of the bronze medalist in the medley.  She is active in Swan Lakes 4-H Club and Catholic Center Youth Group, and maintains a 95% academic average.

Jessica states: “School Sports develop an athlete’s athletic ability, as well as many life skills.  High school sport contributes to time management, sportsmanship, responsibility, confidence and reliability.  I am truly greatful for high school sports as I have learned many skills that will benefit me in my future.”
