Manitoba's Credit Unions Scholar Athlete

Atoosa Jalayeri of Vincent Massey Collegiate (Winnipeg) – participates in Volleyball and Basketball.  She was a team captain, Provincial “AAAA” Basketball MVP and also received the “Players Choice” Award, and was selected as an All-Star at several tournaments.  Atoosa maintains a 96% academic average and is on the school honour roll.  She is also Student Council President, sits on the Grad committee, participated in YiP Band, Jazz Band and Wind Ensemble.  Atoosa is also a member of Model UN Assembly, and fundraises for the Kelsey King Coffee House Memorial, Coaches the Jr. Bisons and participates in her churches’ Youth nights.

Atoosa states: “High School Athletics is the foundation of the overall positive emotional and physical health as well as future occupational success.  The lessons learned on the court and field help athletes acquire not only specific sports skill, but life skills.  Athletics has taught me the true meaning of teamwork and unity by introducing situation of both success and failure.”
