Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Parker Stevenson of the Rosenort Redhawks basketball team is this week’s Tri-Star Rural High School athlete of the week. This 6’3” forward averaged 30 points, 10 rebounds and 4 steals per game. He led his team to two tournament wins, earning MVP honors both times. He led the team to the Bronze medal at the Provincial “A” Basketball Championships where he was named player of the game twice and selected to the Provincial All-Star team. Coach Kevin Friesen states, “Parker is a tremendous leader both on and off the court. He is an extremely hard worker and a big part of our team’s success. He made a big off season commitment to develop his basketball skills and as a result I have seen tremendous growth in his ability and leadership, which was instrumental to our success this season. Parker is one of those players that is a joy to coach”. This grade 12 student maintains an average of 86%.
