The Tire Recycle Urban Athlete of the Week is Rylee Nepinak of the St. John’s Tigers football team.

This grade 12, 5’6” running back led the Tigers to their first win in three years.  In that game he had 20 carries for 285 yards and 3 touchdowns.  For his efforts he was named the WHSFL Currie Division Offensive Player of the Week.  Coach Grant McMillan states, “Rylee is an outstanding football player but more importantly he is an outstanding person.  He is a team captain who leads by example and who others want to follow.  He has a very strong work ethic and is able to push himself and his teammates to strive for excellence.  He is a role model to the other players and to students in our school.  He always puts the needs of the team ahead of his own individual wants, and as a coach is an absolute pleasure to work with.”
