Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Phoenix McElroy-Scott of the Morden Thunder hockey team is this week’s Tri-Star Rural High School athlete of the week. This 5’9” forward led the Thunder to three consecutive wins last week. During that time he scored 7 goals and added 2 assists. In the first two games he registered a hat trick, while scoring the game winner in the third. Coach Tyler Sloan states, “Phoenix is a player that we rely on to play in all game situations for us. He plays the game hard but by the rules and has only taken 1 penalty in our 10 league games this year. He leads by example and is a great role model for the other players on the team”. This grade 11 student maintains a 78% average, while also participating in volleyball and badminton.
