Athlete of the Year

Lars Johnston from Crocus Plains Regional Plainsmen: Johnston participated in volleyball, hockey, golf, curling, baseball, and badminton. He was a starter on the gold medal winning Provincial “AAAA” Volleyball Championship team.  In hockey he was league and team MVP and led the south division in scoring.  He was also a runner up for the Ed Belfour award as the most outstanding player in high school hockey. He led his golf and curling teams to the provincial championships, finishing third at the golf provincials.  In badminton he won the city championships, qualifying him for the provincial championships. During the year he was selected as the Brandon Sun Athlete of the Week and Westman Sport Association Athlete of the Month.  He is an active Peer Tutor, member of the Grad Committee and volunteers for the Canadian National Institute for the Blind.
