Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Braden Calvert of the Carberry Cougars curling team is this week’s Tri-Star Rural High School athlete of the week. This 5’9” skip lead his high school curling team to victory at the Provincial High School Curling Championships. His team was undefeated with a record of 11 wins and no loses through their Zone Championship and Provincials. Coach Grant Calvert states, “Braden is very dedicated to and passionate about the game of curling. He is a player that can remain calm under pressure and is a great leader for his team. His outgoing personality is one of his greatest strengths”. This grade 12 student maintains a 77% average, while also participating in basketball and golf.
