Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Jeremie Rondeau of the Somerset Lions track & field team is this week’s Tri-Star Rural High School athlete of the week. This 5’10” runner once again won the 3000m, 1500m, 800m and medley relay at the Zone 6 Track & Field Championships. As a result of his efforts the Somerset Senior Boys team won the zone 6 banner for the second consecutive year. Coach Nathan Ramage states, “Jeremie is a true leader. He is willing to do whatever it takes to help his school and teammates. He trains very hard for long distances and makes everyone around him much better. He ran over 6100m at the zone championships finishing first every time”. This grade 12 student maintains an average of 85%, while also competing in hockey, badminton, and baseball.
