Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Lauren Wiebe of the Morris Mavericks basketball team is this week’s Tri-Star Rural High School athlete of the week. This 5’5” guard led her team in scoring, averaging 13 points per game, and a berth in the “AA” Provincial Basketball Championships. She also led her Mavericks team to the finals of both the Ste. Anne and Morris tournaments. Coach Laurie Edel states, “Lauren is a positive leader. She is dedicated to excellence in whatever she does. Her determination and work ethic is an example to many young athletes. She works hard to make her teams, school, and community a better place”. This grade 12 student maintains a 92% average, while also participating in soccer, volleyball, badminton, and track & field.
