Deloraine (A)

Sports: Volleyball

The Tire Recycle Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Jillian Crowe of the Deloraine Colts volleyball team.

This 5’7” left side hitter lead her team to a 9-1 league record, winning the Glenboro tournament, finishing second at their home tournament, taking third at the Boissevain tournament, and winning the B-side at the Neelin tournament. Coach Jillian Patmore states, “Jill sees the court in ways that many players don't. She is a confident serve receiver, and defender. She is skilled at reading hitters when she is on defence, and reading opposing defence when she is attacking. It is this court vision that allows Jill to be one of our top point scorers. Beyond that, she pushes herself and others in both practice and in games. Jill is willing to have her voice be heard and she encourages others to do the same. Her ability to score points, defend, and lead her team have been key factors in our success this season.”

This grade 12 student maintains an 85% academic average, while also competing in fastpitch, hockey, badminton, and track & field.
