Nicole Keyes

Killarney (AA)

Sports: Basketball

The Powerland Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Nicole Keyes of the Killarney Raiders basketball team.

This 6’0” center is averaging 20.5 points, 22 rebounds, 5.5 blocks per game. She was player of the game at the Panthers Christmas Classic, helped the team win the Carberry tournament, consolation at the Glenboro tournament, and 2nd place at the Boissevain Invitational.  Coach Patrick Hudson states, “Nicole is a perfect example of what I want players on our team to be. After every practice she will stay late working on different aspects of her game. Including rebounding and low percentage passes to make sure she is able to succeed in games. She helps to reset our offence and is the driving force in making sure shots will not make it to the net on defence. She plays with high intensity and will always try to be one of the hardest working girls every minute of every game”.

This Grade 12 student maintains an 85% academic average, while also participating in volleyball.
