Sports: Soccer Volleyball

Amy-Lyn Nohr of the Rivers Rams volleyball team is this week’s Tri-Star Rural High School athlete of the week.

This 5’4” setter led her team to a bronze medal at the “A” girls Provincial Volleyball Championships.  She was named a game star and selected to the Championship All-Star team for her efforts at the Provincial Championships.  Coach Mike Klassen states, “Amy-Lyn has worked extremely hard to achieve success on the court and has earned the respect of her teammates, fellow competitors, and coaches.  Attending MHSAA Provincial Championships in all four years of her high school career, Amy-Lyn has been a cornerstone in the female volleyball program at Rivers Collegiate.  Her dedication to her various sports teams and personal skill development has awarded her with many accolades. She has become a role model for younger athletes to look up to in our school.  A quiet leader in the dressing room, Amy-Lyn leads by example and uses her unpretentious enthusiasm to motivate teammates on the court”.

In her grade 12 year she maintains an academic average of 85%, while also competing in soccer.
