The Tire Recycle Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Megan Jubenvill of the Gilbert Plains Trojans volleyball team.

This 5’8” left side hitter recently led her team to the Championship of the Ethelbert tournament.  She led the team to five straight victories without losing a set.  During the tournament she had 48 kills and did not miss a single serve, earning her tournament MVP honours.  Coach Daniel Lehmann states, “Megan is a very low-maintenance player, no matter if its weight training or an exhibition game or the finals in a tournament, she always brings the same focus and intensity. Her strong mental focus, dedication towards improving herself, and all-around skill set make her a player we depend on every set! A true leader by example”.

This grade 12 student maintains a 94% average, while also participating in basketball, badminton, and track & field.
