When the final buzzer sounded and Deidre Bartlett knew she had won the provincial high school basketball championship, she hugged the nearest person she could find.
It probably wasn’t a coincidence it was her younger sister, Lauren.
The diminutive siblings, both guards for the Oak Park Raiders, were instrumental in Monday’s 81-67 victory over rival Vincent Massey, their school’s first girls AAAA title since 2013.
And winning it together on their last day as high-school teammates — Deidre is graduating — well, it doesn’t get much better than that.
