Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Lexie Shearer of the Glenboro/Baldur Panthers basketball team.

Shearer led the Panthers to their third straight 'A' Provincial Basketball Championship where she was named the championship MVP, also for the third straight time.  A physical player who dominates on both ends of the court, she averaged 17 points and 14 rebounds a game this year with multiple 20+ point and 20+ rebound games.  Coach Ryan Zadorozny states, "Lexie always draws double teams on the court and sometimes even a triple team down low.  While Lexie led the team in points and rebounds, she also led the team in assists with almost 5 per game.  Lexie's passing and unselfishness is really what makes her a special player.  Lexie is a proud multisport athlete and has been integral to Glenboro School sports for the past three years".

In grade 12, she maintains an 85% academic average.
