Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athletes of the Week are Caroline McConnell & Leigha Kristof of the Reston Tigers badminton team.

McConell & Kristof were able to keep their gold medal streak alive for a second consecutive year this past weekend at the MHSAA Badminton Provincials. Following last years JV Girls Doubles Title, they returned to this year's championship and had another strong performance going through the tournament without losing a single set to capture the Varsity Girls Doubles Title.  Coach Kurtis Callander states, "Leigha & Caroline both are dedicated to helping the younger athletes at Reston School and have both volunteered their time to coach the 7 & 8 Volleyball teams.  They are true multi-sport athletes and have qualified for Provincials in Curling, Volleyball & Badminton as well as playing Fast-Pitch and participating in Golf and Track & Field." Earlier this year they were also instrumental in helping the Tigers volleyball team capture bronze at the Provincial "A" Girls Volleyball Championships.

Both very strong academically, have been honour roll student each and every semester throughout their time at Reston School. They both served on Reston Student Council and are members of the school Leadership Group.
