Manitoba's Credit Unions Scholar Athlete

Chris Ferguson-Martin of Grant Park High School participates in cross-country, volleyball, track & field, basketball, badminton and soccer.  Chris was selected as the Captain of the Boys Volleyball team and as a graduating all-star.  He was a starter on the Basketball Team, and a Silver medallist in the zone boys singles badminton championships.  He maintains a 96% academic average and has been on the honour Roll each term during the 2005-2006 school year.  He has been awarded a Trent University’s Champlain Scholarship. 

Chris states, “The lessons gained from one’s teachers, coaches, the agony of defeat, the ecstasy of victory, and everything in between are undoubtedly priceless and contribute significantly to one’s growth.  Personally, I am eternally grateful for those lessons, as they have shaped me into the man that I am today….From exposure to such a life, a person can gain invaluable skills, such as teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship skills just to name a few.”
