The Tire Recycle Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Braeden Richard of the Landmark 96ers basketball team.

This 6’1” forward led the 96ers to first place in zone 13 “AA” competition.  He led the team in scoring with 15 points per game, and field goal percentage with 57%. He also helped the 96ers to a championship victory in their home tournament. For the weekend, he averaged 13 points, 14 rebounds, 5 steals, and 4 blocks per game.  Coach Tim Rogalsky states, “Braeden is the kind of player who asks his coach, 'What can I do to crack the starting lineup?' and then does it. He plays with tremendous intelligence, always in the right place at the right time. His work ethic, dedication, and consistency quietly set the tone for the whole team. So quietly that he can go almost unnoticed on the court, and then he'll ignite the crowd with a spectacular chase-down block”.

This Grade 12 student maintains an 80% average, while also participating in volleyball, baseball, and soccer.
