Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Tire Recycle Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Brett Foley of the Westpark Royals basketball team in Portage.

This 6’4” center has been averaging 28 points per game over the Royals last 6 games, and will be leading the team, as they host the Provincial “A” Boys Basketball Championships.  Coach David McCutcheon states, “I have been coaching Brett for the past 4 years. In this time I have seen a steady improvement in his skills and in his knowledge of the game. I have really enjoyed working with Brett as he has a never give up attitude and gives 110% all the time. Brett’s game intelligence has increased every year and it is noticeable that he works hard at his skill development in the off season just as much as he does when the season is on. Brett has been a pleasure to coach over the years and has been a real catalyst to our team this season."

This Grade 12 student maintains a 93% average, while also participating in volleyball, badminton, cross country, and Track & Field.
