Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Brandi Clayton of the Nellie McClung Stinger Golf team in Manitou is this week’s Tri-Star Rural High School athlete of the week. This 5’7 athlete led the stingers girl’s golf team to their 9th consecutive Zone 6 golf championship shooting a 92, which was good enough for her 4th straight individual title as well. She then followed that up with a 95 at the Provincial Championship in Minnedosa leading the Stingers to their second Provincial Golf Championship in the last three years. Coach Justin Cantlon states, “Brandi’s win at provincials was her amazing 17th banner that she has been a member of throughout her high school career. Her positive attitude and leadership abilities have enabled her to be a vital member of so many banner winning teams”. This grade 12 student maintains an average of 88%, while also competing in volleyball, fastball, and track & field.
