Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Tire Recycle Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Jada Wieler of Westpark Royals basketball team in Portage.

This 5’3” point guard has led her team to a 3 win 2 loss record to start the season including a third place finish in the Portage Collegiate Early Bird Tournament and Second Place at Westpark’s home tournament. Jada has averaged 22 points a game so far this season. Coach Brian Brewer states, “Jada is exceptional basketball player who is very coachable. She always displays a tremendous attitude and has great leadership skills. She is like a coach on the floor, always encouraging her teammates and someone they look up to. She is a pleasure to coach and makes those around her better. While she is an awesome basketball player she is an even better person and a real joy to be around”.

This grade 10 student maintains a 90% average, while also participating in soccer.
