Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Powerland Urban High School Athlete of the Week is Troy Penner of the Garden City Fighting Gophers badminton team.

The 5’10” singles player won both the College Louis Riel and Gimli badminton tournaments.  Coach Missy Penner states, “Troy is an all around great athlete who participates in 5 interscholastic sports. He has a willingness to work and train hard in each of his respective sports. He is an intense athlete who competes hard every game. He is fun to coach and possess a good sense of humour”.

In Grade 10, he maintains a 98% academic average, while also participating in volleyball, basketball, and soccer.
