Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Powerland Rural High School Athlete of the Week is Sasha St. Pierre of the Lac du Bonnet Chargers badminton team.

This 5’5” singles player won the Zone 13 Girls Singles Badminton Championship. She competed in the Maples Marauders and Louis Riel tournaments finishing 2nd in both.  She also had a great showing at the Provincial Badminton Championships finishing in 4th place.  Coach Paul Poirier states, “Sasha works very hard in practice. She spends a great amount of time on her badminton pursuits both in practice and in competitions. Sasha shows a good understanding of the badminton skills and tactics". 

In grade 9, she maintains a 90% academic average, while also participating in volleyball.
