Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Kristine Navea of the St. James Jimmies basketball team.

An integral part of the Jimmies, she just led her team to claim the Provincial AAA Basketball Championship title where she was named the Championship MVP. She was also the Jimmie's Player of the Game in their Quarterfinal match-up against Springfield. Coach Ashley van Aggelen states, "Kristine is one of two starting point guards for the Jimmie's and is known for her aggressive defense, ability to anticipate and for her crazy ball skills and ability to get to the hoop. This weekend she displayed tremendous tenacity on the court both defensively and offensively."

This grade 11 student maintains a 91.5% academic average, while also participating in badminton and track & field at the collegiate.
