Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

The Dairy Farmers of Manitoba High School Athlete of the Week is Mackenzie Lowden of the Lorette Scorpions volleyball team. 

This co-captain for the Scorpion varsity girl’s volleyball team led them to a Zone 13 AAA Championship and birth at the Provincial AAA Volleyball Championships. Prior to that she helped the Scorpions to a 3rd Place finish at the Neelin Dig tournament and Consolation Championship at the Niverville Tournament. Athletic Director Michelle Marinelli states, "She has been playing volleyball for years and absolutely loves the sport. Although you can typically find her playing left side, she is a multi-dimensional player on our team and has been needed as a setter and right side. Mackenzie is in integral part of this team and strives to be the best she can be no matter where she is playing. She always encourages her teammates and holds everyone including herself to high standards when it comes to playing."

In grade 12 she maintains an 83% academic average.
