Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Kara Pilek of the St. Boniface Centurions Basketball team is this week’s Home Run Sports Urban High School athlete of the week. This 5’5” guard has helped lead her team to a second place finish at the Elmwood tournament and to the championship of the Warren tournament, where she was named tournament all-star. She leads her team in assists, minutes played, and averages 12 points per game. Coach Brad Scott states, “Kara shows great commitment and attitude in all of the sports that she plays. Her positive attitude has a great effect on the entire team”. In grade 12, she maintains an average of 83% and also competes in badminton, volleyball and track & field.
