Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

This boys singles player won the Winnipeg #1 Badminton Championship and then went onto win the Provincial High School Boys Singles Championships.  This was the second year in a row that Jan was a provincial high school champion, as last year he was a mixed doubles champion along with his partner, Patricia Salceda.  Coach Jan Watters states, “Jan is a terrific player who leads by example in his quiet unassuming way. He assists the younger players at practice and is very approachable. Jan is very sportsmanlike and plays fair at all times. Although very competitive, he is able to win while making it look easy but not over the top. Jan has a great future ahead of him in Badminton and we are looking forward to great things from him in Volleyball and Badminton next year”.

These grade 11 student also participates in volleyball.
